Sharing Your Work

In class we learned about how to share and protect your work when you put it online. When you create a piece of artwork on a piece of paper it is the only one, the only copy of the piece of artwork. There is only on existing in the world. But, if you create a piece of artwork on the internet there are certain laws and conditions that protect the artwork from getting sold without your consent or being changed. The laws are here to protect you and what belongs to you.

We learned that when you draw a picture in the internet it is possible to make an exact copy of it. People aren’t allowed to sell or use your creation without your permission. If you would like people to share or use your artwork you have to get a Creative Commons license. Creative Commons  is an organization which provides free content licenses. A content license is a document that states the freedoms and limitations that you apply to your work. if it is someone on the other side of the world don’t worry content licenses are made to be read internationally. There are six different Creative Commons licenses. But, all creative commons licenses require that you give credit to the original creator.
