Week 10 B: Evaluation and Audit

I have written eight posts since March. All of my posts were set by the challenge. I have received two comments over all. The post that received the most comments is titled “My Weekend”. I think this post received the most comments because it was not a challenge blog. The post I enjoyed writing the most was the memories post because I really went into depth of how important memories are to me. Yes, I did change blog themes because at first I didn’t like how it looked and them I changed it to the one I have now. I have 7 widgets. I think its a good number it’s not to many and not to much. I don’t think I have any overseas.

Week 10: My Nomination

For this week’s blog we had to nominate a blog. I nominated Eva’s blog. Her blog is very organized, clear, and descriptive. Her posts are very interesting to read and it captures you. I think I made a good nomination go check out her blog.

Week 9: Family Do’s and Dont’s!

What makes a great family? My idea of a great family is a family that talks, bond and loves each other. Another thing is that they know how to argue. I mean that sounds weird but when you argue you learn to forgive and your bond becomes closer with your sister, brother, mom or dad. These are just a few characteristics that make up a great family.

I have a brother, two sisters, my mom and dad. You could say that we have a lot of issues but, at the end of the day, who are the ones that are going to help you, be there for you, and grow old with you? I know I argue with my sisters everyday. Although, I know how to forgive and forget. I mean you can hold a grudge or you can carry on with life. My family is very close. We share secrets with each other, we cry with each other, and we are a team. I think my family has a very strong bond.

Family is life and memories. Family is like a trampoline. You know that it is going to be there to bounce you back up and lift you higher. Family are the people who know the best. They know everything about you. Surprisingly, more than you know about yourself. In conclusion, family is the best thing in life. Family is were life begins and love never ends.

Week 8: Schooling

What time do you normally get up to go to school?
I normally get up at about 6:30.

2. What do you normally have for breakfast, recess, lunch, tea (dinner, supper)?
For breakfast I have cereal, for recess I usually have fruit or a yogurt, lunch I have pasta, and dinner I have whatever my mom has prepared for me.

3. How do you get to school?
I have my mom drive me to school.

4. How long does it take to get to or from school?
I live far away from my school so probably like 10 min. without traffic, 30 min. with traffic.

5. A typical lunch at school
A typical lunch is eating a playing volleyball after.

6. Subjects you have to do – remember to explain abbreviations like LOTE and ELA
The subjects I have are English, Math, Literature, Religion, Art, Music, Science, and Social Studies.

7. Specialist subjects or electives, options
Well I’m not sure if we have electives but a few I would consider would be the academic decathlon, drama program, chorus, and student council.

8. Technology in your school
We use a lot of technology in our school. Last year we started an I pad program and I think it is going great so far. I really love them. Then we have these really cool boards named smart board which are basically like a projector but more new. We also, have the computer lab. We have really old computers but I still love using them.

9. A typical school day with timetable and breaks
Well a typical school day starts with morning announcements. I do the prayer and then we have our morning classes which leads into recess. After recess we have two classes followed by lunch. After lunch we have the last 2 classes of the day the it’s dismissal.

10. What do you do at break times? Games, activities etc
We play volleyball, sometimes kids catch up on homework they didn’t do, we can braid hair ( considering that I’m a girl), or we can gossip.

11. School bell has gone for end of day – what happens now?
You get picked up in the car line or you get to stay in our wonderful day care program.

12. Do you have to wear uniform?
Yes! Sometimes you look good and other times you look like you just got out of bed.

13. How many days per year are you at school? How is this arranged – terms etc?

14. What do you enjoy most about school?
What I enjoy most about school is that everyone loves and takes care of each other. We are a strong community.

15. If you could improve your school, what would you do?
I would probably have to get rid of the 8th grade privileges. They are really annoying. But when I’m in eighth grade (which is next year) I would like to have those privates. So I don’t think I would get rid of them.

Week 7: Leadership

Some of the leadership roles available at my school are being in student council, singing at masses, the buddy program and much, much more. I would definitely try to take on one of these roles. This would be a great challenge for me. In fact right now I’m running for vice-president in my school’s student council. I would take this on because if we think about it, the younger children are society’s future and teaching them the right way will improve upon our society and the people who live in it. I love to see how little children look upon me for advice. It gives me a boost of confidence in knowing that I’m doing something right.

Week 5: What Memories Mean to Me

What are memories? To me, memories are little flashbacks that are kept stored safely in your mind. They are what make you think of the good things in life and the bad things in life. Memories are all of the amazing and extraordinary times that you’ve had with your family and friends. Memories are also all the bad things you’ve lived in life. They are bad break ups, or the time when you broke your arm. The point is, memories are precious and no one could take them from you.

Week 6: My Visitors

Hi! I have a lot of activities from school to singing to family time. But, one ting I really like to do on my free time is play volleyball with my dad or friends. When I play I feel like I’m relaxed and that a weight has lifted off of me. I feel good spiritually and physically. It is a feeling that is indescribable. I would want to play this more often though. Lately I just haven’t had time. Well, talk to you guys later. Please comment below.

Sharing Your Work

In class we learned about how to share and protect your work when you put it online. When you create a piece of artwork on a piece of paper it is the only one, the only copy of the piece of artwork. There is only on existing in the world. But, if you create a piece of artwork on the internet there are certain laws and conditions that protect the artwork from getting sold without your consent or being changed. The laws are here to protect you and what belongs to you.

We learned that when you draw a picture in the internet it is possible to make an exact copy of it. People aren’t allowed to sell or use your creation without your permission. If you would like people to share or use your artwork you have to get a Creative Commons license. Creative Commons  is an organization which provides free content licenses. A content license is a document that states the freedoms and limitations that you apply to your work. if it is someone on the other side of the world don’t worry content licenses are made to be read internationally. There are six different Creative Commons licenses. But, all creative commons licenses require that you give credit to the original creator.

Week 4: A Picture is Worth

In the past week,  I have been learning about the safety online and how to protect myself online. I have learned that it is important know how to identify any fake emails. I have learned how to efficiently and effectively search or research online without the frustrating and annoying  different results you get. I have learned to be cautious and aware of whatever I may post on social media. If you wouldn’t show it to your best friend why show it to the world. Lastly, I have learned to have fun but fun in a way that it doesn’t harm anyone. Try to be nice and humble to every one you meet online. If you feel uncomfortable in a situation, make sure to get out of it right away. If there is something or someone bothering you make sure to tell a responsible adult right away. Remember friends, whatever you post on the internet it will stay there FOREVER.  Be safe and make sure to post anything YOU feel comfortable with. Have a nice day!

My Weekend

This weekend I finished my cancer project with Kaia and Natalie G. We had so much fun making this project, hopefully we got an A +. Then on Sunday we had a big dinner for Fr. Ernesto and his family. My mom and I cooked and we are exhausted. Luckily, they really liked our food. After we danced and sang all night long.
